Welcome to Black Oak Labradors. We are sisters who jointly share our hobby and passion of labrador retrievers and we are located in the Sierra Mountians and Sierra Foothills 2 hours from San Francisco and 1 hour from Reno.
Growing up on a small farm we raised all types of animals, from dogs and cats to just about every farm animal you can think of. We belonged to 4H and loved animals. We became involved with labs when our daughters joined a dog 4H project and we bought our first labrador for them to show. After this we became addicted to this wonderful breed. We take them camping, hiking, fishing, walking, and just about anywhere we go if they can. We strive to continue to learn, improve, and better the breed and even though we only have a couple of litters a year, it is something we all look forward to it. Our daughters are now in college and we now enjoy this hobby together.
Our dogs are raised in a meticulous home environment in the serene surroundings of the Sierra Nevada Mountians and Sierra Foothills. Our passion and lives are with our animals so they are loved and cared for like our children. When you chose a puppy from us we want to be involved in the process of helping you select a puppy that is perfect for your family, your lifestyle and your home. Please do not be offended if we ask as many questions as you do of us, as we are responsible for the future of our puppies. This is, and will remain, a shared responsibility and trust between breeder and owner.
Additionally we start very early building the health and immune system of the babies. This actually starts with a strict regimen that the mommies are put on while in heat, and continued through breeding, whelping and weaning. The puppies also start an immune building regiment the day they are born which continues through delivery and weaning adding to the health and soundness of each puppy.
We provide a loving environment with lots of socialization for our puppies. Puppies are loved and handled from the time they are born. They are lucky dogs to live in this wonderful area near lakes and rivers (which they LOVE). We feed them natural dog food and we feed other healthy alternatives to keep them healthy for long happy lives. We are proud of our labs and we hope you enjoy their pictures.
Puppies that are purchased through us come with a complete medical history, a puppy package including sample food and vitamins, a sample of our own immune boost powder, and a letter from us explaining how we would prefer you feed and raise your new puppy, and pictures of parents.
Since this is our hobby we may only have one or two litters a year. The litters we do have are carefully thought out and well planned. Because our pups are in great demand, most have deposits on them and are sold before they are born or soon after. It is wise to reserve early after reviewing all of our information. If we don't have puppies available, we would be happy to help you locate a reputable breeder who does.
